ANCHORAGE, Alaska

Boys & Girls Clubs – Alaska board of directors has appointed Susan Anderson, M. Ed., to fill the role of interim CEO. The decision to bring on Anderson to fill this temporary role was made under the guidance of The Foraker Group, a nonprofit organization with the core purpose of strengthening Alaska’s nonprofits.

“We are thrilled to have Susan in this role as we continue the search for a more permanent CEO,” said Board Chair Doug John. “Susan has a long history as a successful nonprofit leader and her background aligns well with the values of our organization including academic success, healthy lifestyles, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.”

Anderson has more than 20 years experience in executive philanthropic leadership, overseeing organizations working to improve the livelihoods of Alaska Native people and communities. Anderson most recently spent 23 years with the CIRI Foundation.

Anderson will begin her interim role Monday, Oct. 23 and will be based out of the administrative office in the Woodland Park Clubhouse in Anchorage, AK.

“The board looks forward to working with Susan to create a road map for our new CEO and the leadership team,” said John. “The objective of having Susan in this interim role is to set the table for our new CEO so they have a clear understanding of our organization’s culture, priorities, and strategic plan.”

Boys & Girls Clubs – Alaska will work Boys & Girls Clubs America and Native Services to begin the new CEO search.
